Phillips, Gourlay finish 26th and 28th at state bowling finals

WATERFORD — Niles bowlers Trenton Phillips and Drew Gourlay finished 26th and 28th respectively out of 60 bowlers at the Division 2 state finals at Century Bowl on Saturday.
Phillips, a freshman, averaged 189.3 and finished with 1,136 pins. His best game was a 224.
Gourlay averaged 188.6 with 1,132 pins. His best game was a 232.
On Friday, the Niles girls bowling team finished 14th overall at the state finals in Waterford.
The Vikings finished with 2,726 pins. A total of 18 teams competed in the Division 2 finals.
Chevelle and Shelby Jaynes led Niles with 334 pins.
