KALAMAZOO — The Dowagiac wrestling season came to an abrupt halt at the hands of two-time defending state champion Dundee Friday afternoon.

The Chieftains were defeated by the No. 1-ranked Vikings 73-6 in the Division 3 quarterfinals at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo.

Dowagiac’s lone victory came at 285-pounds when Wyatt Bailey pinned Dundee’s Kaiden Hubbell in just 53 seconds.

The Chieftains, who were making their third straight appearance in the Division 3 state finals, finish the year at 23-10.
