Hoover picks up 100th career win

DOWAGIAC — Defending Wolverine Conference wrestling champion Edwardsburg remained atop the league standings with a dominating performance at Dowagiac on Jan. 22.

The Eddies improved to 7-0 in the conference and 15-3 overall with an 82-0 win over Three Rivers and a 63-12 win over Sturgis.

Against the Wildcats, Edwardsburg came up one pin short of a perfect score of 84-0.

During the match, senior Jackson Hoover earned his 100th career victory. Hoover pinned Javier Kelley in 2:30 at 140 pounds.

Hoover won by forfeit against Sturgis. Also earning two wins on the night were Caleb Fielder (103), Andrew Castelucci (112), Nick Eason (119), Colten Strawderman (125), Noah Tinkham (130), Austin Peacock (135), Derek Hess (140/145), Jacob Reece (152), Nathan Andrina (160) and Tabor Lock (171).

Dylan Livingston and Dillon Hursh both won matches at 189 pounds.
