NILES — Brandywine and Buchanan took to the court for the first of two meetings this season as the Bucks hosted the Bobcats in BCS Red Division girls basketball on Thursday night.

The No. 10-ranked (Division 3) Bobcats defeated Buchanan, an honorable mention pick in Division 2) 45-17 to remain in first place.

On Friday night, undefeated Brandywine hosted once-beaten Buchanan in a battle to state atop the Red Division boys standings.

The Bobcats got off to a fast start, but Buchanan rallied in the fourth quarter to make a game of it. But in the end, Brandywine held on for a 66-56 victory.
