Chrismon scores 25 in victory over Coloma

NILES — A second-half rally kept the Brandywine boys basketball team undefeated Saturday night.

Trailing visiting Coloma 33-26 at halftime, the Bobcats outscored the Comets 41-20 in the second half to pull out a 67-53 non-conference victory.

The win improved Brandywine to 6-0 overall. Coloma drops to 4-3 on the season.

In its first game back from Christmas break, the Bobcats got off to a slow start, trailing the Comets 24-16 after eight minutes of play. Brandywine was only able to trim a single point off Coloma’s early advantage by halftime.

The Bobcats poured in 18 third-quarter points, while holding the Comets to just two points to take a 44-35 lead into the final quarter.

In the final eight minutes, Brandywine scored 23 points to pull away.

Kendall Chrismon scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Bobcats, who also got 19 points from Jaelen Briggs.

Drew Goodline led the Comets with 14 points. Michael Dancer finished with 10.

Brandywine will host Watervliet in a non-conference game Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
