Vernon “Jim” Wagner, of Niles

Vernon “Jim” James Wagner, 87, of Niles, passed away at Riveridge Manor in Niles on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019.
Jim was born on Oct. 6, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan to Vernon and Clarabelle Wagner. His parents preceded him along with three brothers and one sister. Jim is survived by two sisters, Loretta Snyder, of Westland, Michigan, and Lorraine Gowen, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Sharon Wagner of Westland.
Jim is also survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Wagner; four children, Judy (Bill) Harris of Lynchburg, Virginia, James Wagner of Clarksville, Indiana, Jeffery Wagner of South Bend, Jerry (Summer) Wagner of Jerome, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Jim retired from Kelsy Hayes, of Romulus, Michigan, where he was a machinist for 32 years. He loved sports, especially golf, basketball, and bowling. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends. Jim was also a longtime member of Summit Church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow Friday at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor at 10 a.m.
