Vera D. Hall, 83, of Dowagiac, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Justin Shepard officiating.

Burial will follow at South Wayne Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Vera’s name may be made to the Dowagiac Historical Society. Those wishing to sign Vera’s Memory Book online may do so at clarkch.com.

Vera was born Jan. 7, 1936, to Kenneth and Opal (Case) Kempton in Keeler.

She graduated from Cassopolis High School.

On Jan. 8, 1955, she married the love of her life, Edward Lee Hall Sr. Vera worked for Heddon’s for more than 18 years and worked as a secretary for John Scott insurance and Mahar Insurance before her retirement.

She loved flowers and spent a lot of time in her yard gardening. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially in her younger years when she would take long road trips with her husband, Edward. Most of all, she loved her family, and she will be greatly missed.

Vera is survived by her son, Edward Lee (Lou Ann) Hall Jr.; grandchildren, Kara Hall, Andrew Hall and Zachery Hall; and siblings, Linda Kempton and Roger (Mary Ellen) Kempton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Lee Hall Sr.; son, Jim Hall; and siblings, Lucille Hoffman, Patsy Lillie and Alton Kempton.
