Terry Lee VanKirk, 61, of Niles, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville.
Terry was born on Aug. 9, 1958, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the late Noah Lee and Betty (Pickens) VanKirk.
On Aug. 11, 1986, in South Bend, he married Peggy Lynn East, who survives.
Terry is survived by his wife, Peggy, children; Alishia VanKirk, of Niles, Billie Jo VanKirk, of Niles, Mike (Krystal Lary) VanKirk, of Niles, and Bubba VanKirk, of Niles; his grandchildren, Jamie, Angel, Skylar, Tamra, Ryelee and Mikey.
He is also survived by his brothers, Walt VanKirk, of Belton, Texas, Steven VanKirk, of Buchanan, and Noah VanKirk Jr., of Nolanville, Texas.
Terry was a contractor who worked in construction most of his life. He had honorably served in the U.S. Army and was proud to be a veteran. Terry had also coached little league baseball and was an umpire. He enjoyed fishing. All who knew Terry were well aware of his love of Notre Dame. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he had with them.
In keeping with Terry’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, on at the Moose Lodge, 2277 N. 5th St. Niles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, 615 S. Main St. Niles.
