Shirley L. Nevill, 89, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at Brentwood of Niles.

Shirley was born on Feb. 15, 1930, in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Robert and Gipsie (Morgan) Schneider.

On June 21, 1952, in Niles, she married Wilbur L. Nevill who passed away on Jan. 30, 2006.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur; brothers, Robert and Vern Schneider; and son in law, Dean Pierce.

Shirley is survived by her children, Deborah (Vincent) Licata, of Clarkston, Michigan, Diane Pierce, of Lakeside, Arizona, and Daniel (Karen) Nevill, of Cumming, Georgia; as well as eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She had worked at J.C. Penney in Niles and retired as a bank teller for Fifth-Third Bank.

Shirley was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Niles. She was a member of the Wesley UMC Circle Club. She was also a member of the Niles Garden Club, book club and was a former volunteer at the Niles District Library. She loved to sew and enjoyed quilting and rug hooking. Shirley was an amazing cook, and she loved to shop. Having time with her family was what Shirley treasured most of all.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been made at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Niles.
