SCHOOLCRAFT — Brandywine continued its run toward a regional championship with a 3-0 win over Gobles at Schoolcraft Tuesday night.

The Bobcats defeated the Tigers 25-16, 25-17 and 25-9 to advance to the finals where they will face No. 1-ranked Schoolcraft, which defeated four-time defending state champion Bronson 3-0.

The Eagles (45-6-1) snapped the Vikings’ 32-match postseason winning streak by defeating them 25-15, 25-17 and 25-16.

Bronson ends the year at 51-9-2.

The Division 3 regional championship match is scheduled to begin today at 6 p.m.

Division 2

OTSEGO — The Edwardsburg volleyball team may have had to share the Wolverine Conference title with Vicksburg this past season, but the Eddies were not about to be that gracious in the Division 2 regional semifinals on Tuesday.

Edwardsburg blanked the Bulldogs 25-10, 25-19 and 25-23 to advance to tonight’s regional championship match at Otsego High School against three-time defending regional champion Hamilton. Play is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Eddies have been eliminated by the Hawkeyes each of the past seasons, including a five-set thriller last season.

Edwardsburg (33-9-2) dominated its match against Vicksburg, winning the first two sets relatively with ease. The Bulldogs tried to get back into the match in the third set, taking an early lead, but Edwardsburg’s dominance at the net proved to be too much.

Vicksburg, which defeated the Eddies in five sets during the regular season, finishes the year at 25-21-5.

Hamilton, ranked No. 4 in Division 2, had no trouble reaching the championship match as it pounded another Wolverine Conference team in Paw Paw 3-0.
