Teenager injured in Howard Township crash

HOWARD TOWNSHIP — A teenager was injured in a Howard Township crash Monday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Richard Behnke, reported that at 8:18 p.m. Monday, his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on M-60 near Barron Lake Road in Howard Township.
The crash occurred when Jennie Myland, 40, of Niles, was driving southwest on M-60 and lost control of her vehicle, crossing into the path of an 18-wheeler heading the same direction. While Myland did not sustain any injuries, a teenage female had a minor injury and was transported to Lakeland Niles Hospital. The truck driver, David Mishler, 37, of South Bend, did not sustain any injuries.
According to deputies, seatbelts were worn by occupants of both vehicles.
Assisting agencies include Howards Township Fire, SMCAS EMS and Pokagon Tribal DNR.
