A 39-year-old woman from South Bend died in a rollover accident Nov. 3 in Oronoko Charter Township.

At about 12:21 p.m., Michigan State Police were responded to a personal injury crash at a US-31 bypass in Oronoko from their Niles post.

An investigation revealed that the woman was traveling northbound when she went off the roadway and lost control of her vehicle, officers said. After overcorrecting, the vehicle rolled over several times, struck a tree and ejected the woman from her vehicle.

She was pronounced dead on the scene. Officers said drugs or alcohol do not appear to have contributed to the accident.

The Michigan State Police were assisted by Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department and Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Fire Department.
