CASSOPOLIS — On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Midwest Energy and Communications will say thank you to local veterans by serving a free Thanksgiving meal with the Cassopolis Veterans of Foreign War’s Auxiliary #10704. The event will be hosted from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cassopolis VFW, 131 S. Broadway St. Veterans are encouraged to bring their friends and family, MEC officials said.

“MEC has turned this event into an annual tradition, and we look forward every year to meeting and serving those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom,” said Patty Nowlin, vice president of corporate communications at MEC.

MEC employees will deep-fry turkeys, bake hams and prepare and serve traditional Thanksgiving sides. Attendees will also get to enjoy dessert and hot coffee.

While not required, donations will be welcome and will benefit the Cassopolis VFW, organizers said.
