BUCHANAN — For only the second time in school history, the Brandywine football team completed an undefeated season as it edged arch rival Buchanan 52-38 Friday night.

The Bobcats (9-0) will now await their postseason fate, which will be announced by the MHSAA beginning at 7 p.m. Friday night. The Bucks, under first-year coach Mark Frey, finish 3-6, winning three out of their final five games.

At Paw Paw, the battle between the two Wolverine Conference unbeatens turned out to be just another rout for No. 2-ranked (Division 3) Edwardsburg. Paw Paw (No. 2 in Division 4) may have scored first, but it could not keep up with the Eddies, who went on to win 44-14. It is their 23rd consecutive victory.

Dowagiac qualified for the postseason under first-year coach Randy Brooks as the Chieftains blanked visiting South Haven 36-0. It was the final game in the Wolverine Conference for South Haven, which moves to the BCS Athletic Conference in 2020.

Niles was defeated by visiting Portage Central in its final game of the 2019 season. The Vikings fell to the Mustangs 21-6.
