Brandywine now 7-0 after blowout of Gobles

GOBLES — Another night. Another blowout.

The Brandywine football team improved to 7-0 with a 44-0 win over host Gobles Friday night.

The Bobcats have now outscored their opponents 344-33, have only allowed one team to score more than a touchdown and a two-point conversion on them all year.

Brandywine’s closest contest was a 31-8 win over Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian (31-8) the previous Friday night.

The Bobcats’ offense had eighth players carry the football. Of those eight players, six reached double figures in rushing. Jaelen Briggs led the way with 88 yards on three carries, while leading rushing Jordan Abrams carried the ball six times for 53 yards.

Gabe Gouin had another big night at quarterback as he was 5-of-7 for 172 yards with touchdown passes to Shane Brown and Briggs. Brown caught three passes for 117 yards.

Brandywine finished the night with 396 yards of total offense.

The Bobcats’ defense picked up its third shutout of the season after allowing the Tigers just 144 yards of total offense.

The defense was led by Brock Prenkert’s 11 tackles. Dominick Geishirt and Conner Janowiak both had 10 tackles. They combined for four tackles for loss. Reese McKee finished with seven tackles.

The Bobcats will host Parchment for Senior Night Friday. Kickoff will return to 7 p.m.
