CASSOPOLIS — Guests are encouraged by organizers to dress the part for a masquerade themed fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 19 hosted by the Cass County Council on Aging. The event, which will take place at the Lowe Center, will feature local music by BIG BOSS BAND, beer sponsored by Sister Lakes Brewing, wine sponsored by St. Julian Winery, and gourmet food prepared by Chef Kevin. Past support of the event has helped the Cass County COA maintain its Meals on Wheels program.
Organizers hope that guests will attend this year as either a sponsor of the evening, or to offer a donating item or gift card to be used in the raffle or live auction for Meals on Wheels.
In 2018, the Cass County COA’s Meals on Wheels program prepared and delivered over 14,000 hot meals to area residents, organizers said. The Meals on Wheels serves many older adults who would otherwise not have the means or capability to prepare a nourishing meal for themselves. The COA is able to subsidize the cost of these meals and ensure that homebound individuals have access to a nutritious meal daily at a price they can afford.
Tickets are $50 per person or $400 for a table of eight. Organizers urge anyone who cannot attend the event to reach out about available sponsorship opportunities for this evening. Readers interested in supporting the event by either donating an auction item, sponsoring meals for the Meals on Wheels Program, or attending, can contact Heidi Powell, (269) 445-8110, or e-mail heidip@casscoa.org.
