HOWARD TOWNSHIP — An 18-year-old South Bend man was shot and killed at a large gathering at a home in Howard Township early Sunday morning, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

Police were dispatched to the 2900 block of Yankee Street at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Dayman Chatman, 18, of South Bend, was shot and died from his injuries.

The homeowner was not home at the time of the shooting. Witnesses at the scene were interviewed and possible witnesses that left the scene are sought for further questioning.

No suspects have been arrested.
