Phyllis Ann Green, 85, lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away, Thursday, July 11, 2019, at her home.

A celebration of life service will be hosted 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2019, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Rev. Boyd Saylor officiating. Burial will follow at South Wayne Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations in Phyllis’ name may be made to Reverence Hospice of Portage, Michigan. Phyllis was born Oct. 19, 1933, in Dowagiac, to Carson and Hazel (Myers) Lillie.

On Sept. 19, 1951, she married Robert K. Green in St. Joseph. Phyllis started her work career at Heddon’s in Dowagiac, where she was employed for 27 years until they closed. She then worked for 17 years as a nurse aide at Dowagiac Nursing Home. Following, she helped her son in the family business, Division Tire in Dowagiac and Decatur Auto in Decatur. Phyllis enjoyed her employment as she was a people person, always wanting to help others. Phyllis cherished the time spent with her family at holidays, birthdays and other special occasions and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed shopping with her sisters and doing puzzles.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Keith (Barbara) Green, of Dowagiac, Steve (Patti) Green, of Decatur; nine grandchildren, Melanie (Charles) Green, Chad Green, Kelly Delaney, Dustin Green, Victoria Green, Gabe Green, Lukas Green, Noah Green and Faith Green; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Winifred Arndt, of Howard City, Michigan, Pat (Roger) Small, of Decatur, Tom (Betty) Lillie, of Dowagiac; brother-in-law, Kenneth Schultz, of Dowagiac; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on June 12, 1993; two sisters, Floretta McCuen and Pauline Schultz; and two brothers, Junior Lillie and Morris Lillie.
