NILES – Last Friday, Curly Q’s BBQ celebrated its one-year anniversary with a commemorative ribbon-cutting provided by the Greater Niles Chamber of Commerce.

Tyler Haines and his family opened Curly Q’s BBQ on June 23, 2018, with the goal of bringing people together over good food and fostering a sense of fellowship in the community that they love, said the restaurant’s owners.

The restaurant offers a barbeque menu that features items such as ribs, rib tips, BBQ chicken, catfish, perch, BBQ pulled pork and gourmet mac and cheese and baked beans.

Haines has been cooking since the age of 9, crediting his passion for cooking to his grandparents and his father, Tyrone Haines. Growing up, Haines’ talent for cooking developed as his family helped to develop his trade, he said.

Haines said that Curly Q’s BBQ’s first year has been amazing. This is his first brick and mortar restaurant, so the year has been a learning experience as well as a time to truly make people happy with the food that the restaurant provides.

“We’re appreciative of the support that the community has given us over this first year,” he said. “We are excited about our future serving this community with great food. Our motto is #fromourfamilytoyours, because I feed my customers like I feed my family. — the best quality of goods, homemade, no shortcuts.”

Curly Q’s BBQ is located at 1125 Wayne St. in Niles.
