CALVIN TOWNSHIP — No serious injuries were sustained in a three-car crash Thursday in Calvin Township.
Sheriff Richard J Behnke reported his office investigated a three-car crash at the intersection of Calvin Hill Street and Calvin Center Road at 11:05 a.m. Thursday.
Emergency personnel were called after a westbound vehicle on Calvin Hill Street failed to stop/yield as required at Calvin Center Road.
The vehicle, driven by Corey Grimmer, 25, of South Bend, entered the intersection and struck a northbound pickup truck driven by Jimmy Crosslin, 66, of Vandalia. Crosslin’s vehicle was forced into the path of the southbound vehicle driven by Karen Lee Hardisty, 60, of Vandalia.
Medics checked all three drivers and released them at the scene.
Airbags and seatbelts were used by the drivers. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash, according to deputies.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Penn Township Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance service.
