THREE OAKS — Baseball’s last 30 game winner, Denny McLain, will be appearing in Three Oaks to discuss baseball Saturday.

McLain, who was 31-6 for the Detroit Tigers and helped lead them to the World Series title, will do an autograph show from 10 a.m. until noon at the Biggest Little Baseball Museum, 3 N. Elm St. in Three Oaks.

He will then make the short trip to the Acorn Theater where he will talk about baseball beginning at 12:30 p.m.

McLain was the youngest player on the Tigers’ roster in 1968. He was named the American League MVP and the Cy Young Award winner.

McLain feels a responsibility to keep the story of the 1968 Detroit Tigers alive. This summer, he selected Three Oaks as one of his small-town Michigan stops to reminisce with fans about his teammates and the World Championship season.

Tickets are $10 for the Acorn Theater admission, which includes a complimentary hot dog, unlimited soft drinks and a box of Cracker Jacks. There will also be a cash bar.

After the presentation, McClain will meet with fans and do an autograph show in the lobby of the Acorn Theater.

Tickets for the event are on sale now at acornlive.org.
