One injured in car vs. bicycle crash

An 82-year-old bicyclist from Marcellus was injured when he was struck by a car on M-40 near Brody Street in Marcellus Township Friday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
Police were called to the scene at 3:59 p.m. Friday.
Cody Breseman, 26, of Dowagiac, was traveling south on M-40 when his car struck James Shannon, 82, of Marcellus, who was riding the bicycle.
Shannon was injured and transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Alcohol was not a factor and Shannon was not wearing a helmet.
Assisting agencies were Marcellus Ambulance, Marcellus Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance.
