Helen L. (Dewey) Comeau, 88, of Niles, passed away at 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in her home.
Helen was born on Oct. 4, 1930, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Marion W. and Ruby Clara Mae (Atkins) Dewey.
On May 27, 1949, in Peru, Indiana, Helen married Edwin Tyler “Ted” Comeau and he passed away on Jan. 8, 2016. Helen was also preceded in death by brother, Robert Franklin Dewey and sisters, Dorothy Mae Dewey and Nancy Lee Dennison.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Sheba Jean (Jim) Kasa; grandchildren, Kristen (Chris) Haggerty and Kerri Kasa; great-grandsons, Michael and Matthew Haggerty; brothers and sisters, John E. (Mary) Dewey, Jim L. (Mary) Dewey, Vera B. Robertson, Roger A. Dewey, Richard E. (Shelia) Dewey, Delores A. Lane, Theresa E. (Duane) Vance, and Jackie K. Green; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen owed her own business out of her home making curtains. She enjoyed sewing. In the 1960’s she worked at Pawating Hospital in Niles. She enjoyed the circus and was the first woman president of the Motorcycle Club that she belonged to.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, in Halbritter-WIckens Funeral Home, 815 E. Main St., Niles.
