Kaylee Thompson is a junior on the Niles cross country team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
KT: One of my greatest accomplishments was working hard over the summer.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
KT: I get the most nervous right before the gun goes off.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
KT: Every time I get lost at practice on a run.
How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?
KT: I will ask my coaches what they want me to do.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
KT: I would want to play tennis because it looks like fun.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
KT: High school sports are important because they help you make more friends and have a better experience in high school.
KT: I would give it to an organization that helps feed kids.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
KT: I would be the middle school cross country coach.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
KT: Take more college classes.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
KT: The most challenging thing for me is holding myself accountable when I cannot practice with the team.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
KT: I would make cross country a contact sport because it would make it more interesting.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
KT: The best compliment I have received is that I am beautiful inside and out.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
KT: My favorite hobby is running because it makes me feel happy.
