Summer camp registration for Fort Saint Joseph is open

NILES — Registration for summer camps at the Fort St. Joseph archaeology site are now open.
The camp is available for middle school, high school and adults and is a partnership between Western Michigan University and the city of Niles.
These day camps provide an opportunity for the public to engage in history and search for evidence at the Fort St. Joseph archaeology site.
The program is led by Western Michigan University’s education instructor, Tim Bober. Participants spend a week discovering the extensive history of FSJ and participating in onsite excavation with opportunities to wet screen, map, and analyze recovered artifacts.
An approved continuing education program, the FSJ Lifelong Learner Camps are able to offer applicable students three WMU graduate credits, nine State Board Continuing Education Units, credits for recertification for Illinois resident, and credits applicable toward the Professional Growth Plan for Indiana residents.
