David Russell Steele Jr., 67, of Dowagiac, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday in Livonia, Michigan.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 28 years of service. Though he was a Marine Corp veteran, avid bowler and fisherman, his most prized accomplishments called him “papa.”
David leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Cheryle; daughters, Kathy, Shevonne (David), Candice; sons, David III, and Erik (Ashley).
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019. Family hour will be at noon. The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2019, at the O.H. Pye, III Funeral Home 17600 Plymouth Road, Detroit, Michigan 48227. Condolences may be sent to pyefuneralhome.com
