Three injured in two-car crash Tuesday

MILTON TOWNSHIP — Three people were injured in a two-car crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Milton Township, according to Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke. 

Police responded to the crash at 1:07 p.m. at the intersection of Redfield Road and Ironwood Street.

An investigation of the crash showed that a vehicle driven by Richard Scott, 76, of Granger, turned westbound onto Redfield Road in front of Marie Purucker, 62, of Niles, who was traveling eastbound on Redfield Road and sideswiped the driver’s side of Scott’s vehicle. Scott was transported by SMCAS to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Purucker and her passenger, Nancy Ducharme, 82, of St. Anne, Illinois, were transported by SMCAS to St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka. Scott’s passenger was not injured.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. Seatbelts were worn.
