Larry Lambrecht Sr., 74, of Dowagiac, passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at his home.

A celebration of life service will be graveside at 11 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2019, at Keeler Cemetery in Keeler Township with the Dowagiac VFW Post #1855 performing Military Honors. Larry was born March 25, 1944, in Benton Harbor, to Edgar and Ethel (Molter) Lambrecht.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1969.

On Dec. 3, 1971, he married the love of his life, Eleanor Brownell in Dowagiac. Larry worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 31 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Sister Lakes Fire Department, Keeler Fire Department and the Sister Lakes Lions Club. Larry was an outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, camping and just being outside. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Lambrecht; children, Larry Lambrecht Jr., Trudy Lambrecth, Victoria (Michael) Jones, Ricky Mead, Michael (Brenda) Mead, Penny Efting, Judy (Scott) Efting and Steven Mead; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings Robert (June) Lambrecht, Gloria Kendzior, Linda Bartz and Karen Bliley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
