Charlene F. Chew, 67, of Buchanan, passed away unexpectedly but of natural causes, at her home on Friday, March 29, 2019.

Charlene was born on Jan. 8, 1952, to the late George A and Norma Jean (Helmlinger) Chew in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was united in marriage on Aug. 1, 1970, to Abraham Hargreaves Jr. at Coulter’s Chapel in Niles. To that union, two children were born.

Charlene was a hard worker. She held many jobs though out her lifetime. She treasured every moment that she was able to spend with her family. Her five grandsons and one great-grandson were her pride and joy. She loved being able to help care for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Virginia Chew.

Charlene is survived by her children, Abraham (Sheila) Hargreaves III, of Niles, and Shawnie (Greg) Sebasty of Buchanan; five grandsons, Abraham IV, Zayne, Cody, Austin and Brayden; great-grandson, Abraham V; siblings, George Chew Jr., Donna Curtis, Linda Eggeman, Jeannie Smith and Troy Chew; ex-husband, Abraham Hargreaves Jr.; along with several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
