Cade Vota is a sophomore on the Niles baseball team
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
CV: Being named to the Team USA Great Lakes NTIS team and competing in North Carolina at the national training complex with some of the best ballplayers in the country.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
CV: Only having one district win in my four varsity seasons so far.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
CV: My parents and grandparents because they love me unconditionally no matter how things are going. They are there for me through thick and thin and support me through it all.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
CV: I was trying to stretch a single into a double and my spikes got caught in my shoe lace so I fell flat on my face and crawled back to first base.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
CV: Sports are an important part of a high school experience because it is a different environment. There is no better feeling than walking out on the field, court, diamond, etc … and having your classmates cheer you on. It adds a deeper level to the culture as a school and relationships between classmates.
How would you give away $50,000?
CV: I would give away $50,000 by donating back to a children’s hospital because they need it more than the rest of us.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
CV: The scariest thing that I had to do was play up an age group for a game in North Carolina with Team USA. I was extremely glad that I did it, it was a great experience and a lot of fun.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
CV: The last thing I saw that really impressed me was the camaraderie between our team in the early stages of the season.

CV: Determined .
