Arthur Deutscher, 95, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019.

He was born May 25, 1923, in Dowagiac, to the late Emil and Gladys (Jones) Deutscher. Arthur was united in marriage to Virginia Baker on May 22, 1948, who preceded him in death in July of 2000.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Arthur was a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. He worked several years at Clark Equipment before retiring. Arthur is survived by his children, Mark (Sandy) Deutscher, Glenn (Ralpha) Deutscher and Diane (Rex) Mitchell; two grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Arthur was preceded in death by a son, Dale Deutscher; grandson, Phillip Deutscher; two brothers and two sisters.

The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 25, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 East Maple St.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 114 E. Minges Road, Battle Creek. St. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, 61453 M-51, Niles. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
