Dwain Blackburn, 97, of Matthews, North Carolina, died Feb. 7, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosanna (nee ‘Smith’ of Edwardsburg) of 58 years.

He is survived by three sons, Ronald, of Brooklyn, New York, David (Carol), of Prattville, Alabama, Jerry (Denise), of Parchment, Michigan, and daughter Susan (John) Glendening, of Matthews, North Carolina.

He had nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was a WW II Veteran, an accountant and an investigator for the Civil Service.

A time of visitation with the family will be from noon to 2 p.m. at Smith Historical Chapel, 29858 Redfield Road, (Milton Township), Niles, on April 15, 2019.

The Memorial Service will begin at 2 p.m. at the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, P.O. Box 47048, Charlotte, NC 28105.
