NILES — The Niles Burn Run and the YMCA of Southwest Michigan will host the second annual Spin-A-Thon Fundraiser for Great Lakes Burn Camp.

The 12-hour Spin-A-Thon will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA.

The goal of the Spin-A-Thon is to raise money for Great Lakes Burn Camp, a camp that promotes healing, self-esteem, confidence and general well-being for burn injured children. The Niles Burn Run works year-round to raise funds for the camp.

The all-day event will have 20 stationary bikes available each hour, with the last hour beginning at 5 p.m. For a $25 donation for each hour they wish to ride, participants will have a bike reserved for them, as well as a T-shirt. Participants may also register to walk the indoor track at any time throughout the day if they are unable to ride a spin bike.

The Spin-A-Thon is also looking for individuals or local businesses to sponsor each hour of the event for $100 per hour. Sponsors who commit before March 8 will be included on this year’s event T-shirt. All sponsorship funds will also be donated to Great Lakes Burn Camp.

Registration is open now through the day of the event. Those interested in riding and/or sponsoring an hour can register at ymcaswm.com/spin. Participants are not limited to the number of hours they ride. Certain hours will be conducted as spin classes and are noted on the registration page.
