BENTON HARBOR — The Cloverleaf Spelling Bee 2019 took place Feb. 21 at the Mendel Center in Benton Harbor. Students from across Berrien County attended to showcase their spelling knowledge. Ananya Bommineni, of Lakeshore Middle School, won after spelling the word coalition.
The following local Niles and Buchanan spellers competed:
• Buchanan Middle School: Damien Blackmore, Sarah Brackett, Landon Fankhauser. Coaches: Stacey Lee and Monica Luke
• Ring Lardner Middle School: Cole Baldwin, Kevin Ellerbrook, Isabelle Grable. Coach: Rikki Jones.
