Three subjects arraigned on meth charges in Mason Township

MASON TOWNSHIP — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of three individuals arrested following an incident in Mason Township earlier this month.

Last week, Joshua Butler, 40, of Elkhart; Viktoria Salveson, 18, of Goshen; and Tamara Tierney, 30, of Elkhart, were arraigned in Cass County Court on drugs charges. Bond was set at $30,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from an incident that took place Feb. 17 in Mason Township. On the day, he Cass County Drug Enforcement Team executed a search warrant in the 21000 block of Channel Parkway in Mason Township after a subject had barricaded themselves inside a residence after fleeing from Elkhart County deputies.

The 34-year-old barricaded subject surrendered himself to officers on scene, and a search of the residence was conducted. Four subjects were detained inside of the residence: Butler, Tierney, a 29-year-old female, and Salveson. Once all subjects were secure, detectives continued searching. 

During the search, detectives located over an ounce methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia in several rooms throughout the residence. Detectives also found over $4,000 in cash, a gallon sized Ziploc of marijuana and a bag containing cocaine. Two stolen vehicles were also recovered outside the residence that had been reported as stolen out of Indiana.

Butler was taken to the Cass County Jail and lodged on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Tierney was taken to the Cass County Jail and lodged on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine. 

Salveson was taken to the Cass County Jail and lodged on charges for possession of methamphetamine.

The 34-year-old male, of Elkhart, was transported back to Elkhart by Elkhart County Deputies. Charges are being sought for him in this case as well.
