Detectives find drugs, stolen vehicles at Edwardsburg residence

EDWARDSBURG — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is seeking charges for individuals associated with an incident that involved a man barricading himself inside an Edwardsburg home Sunday evening. 

Sunday, The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team executed a search warrant in the 21000 block of Channel Parkway in Mason Township after a subject had barricaded themselves inside a residence after fleeing from Elkhart County deputies. 

The 34-year-old barricaded subject surrendered himself to officers on scene, and a search of the residence was conducted. Four subjects were detained inside of the residence: a 40-year-old male, a 30-year-old female, a 29-year-old female and an 18-year-old female. Once all subjects were secure detectives continued searching. 

During the search, detectives located more than an ounce methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia in several rooms throughout the residence. Detectives also found more than $4,000 in cash, a gallon sized Ziploc of marijuana and a bag containing cocaine. Two stolen vehicles were also recovered outside the residence that had been reported as stolen out of Indiana.

The 40-year-old male, of Elkhart, was taken to the Cass County Jail and lodged on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The 30-year-old female, of Elkhart, was taken to the Cass County Jail and lodged on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine.  The 18-year-old female, of Goshen, was taken to the Cass County Jail and lodged on charges for possession of methamphetamine. The 34-year-old male, of Elkhart, was transported back to Elkhart by Elkhart County Deputies. Charges are being sought for him in this case as well. 

The arrested subjects’ names are being withheld pending their arraignment. 

Detectives were assisted on scene by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and K9 Faust.
