Lack of scoring dooms Vikings in second half

ST. JOSEPH — A lack of second-half scoring doomed the Niles girls basketball team in its 48-40 SMAC West Division loss to St. Joseph Friday night.

Trailing 33-26 at halftime, the Vikings managed just 14 points over the final two quarters.

Aynslee Myer had 14 points to lead Niles, which also got 11 points from Alycia Patterson and seven points from Reese Davies.

Alexandria Malone had a game-high 17 points to lead the Bears.

Niles is now 8-6 overall and 4-4 in the SMAC West.
