WATERVLIET — The Brandywine boys basketball team is rolling as the regular season winds down and the district tournament is a week away.

The Bobcats improved to 16-1 with a sweep of Watervliet and arch rival Buchanan over the weekend.

Brandywine picked up a hard-fought 59-46 win over the Bucks in BCS Red Division play on Friday night before turning around and routing host Watervliet 62-31 on Saturday.

In its win against Buchanan, Brandywine was able to shake off a 22-19 halftime deficit to defeat the Bucks.

The Bobcats, who already had clinched the BCS Red Division title, outscored Buchanan 40-24 in the second half to improve to 9-0 with one game remaining against Parchment on Friday.

Jaden Croom scored 15 points to lead the Bobcats, who also got 10 points from Shane Brown.

Chris Young had 10 points for the Bucks, who fall to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the BCS Red Division.

On Saturday at Watervliet, Brandywine raced out to a 14-2 first quarter lead and never looked back against the 1-15 Panthers.

Brandywine led 50-22 heading into the final quarter.

Jordan Abrams scored 14 points to lead the Bobcats, who also got 11 points from Bradly Rizzo.

Curtis White and Dylan Lawson both scored six points to lead the Panthers.
