Terry A. Wegner, 81, of Dowagiac, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at the Timbers of Cass County.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at First Christian Church, 201 Oak St., Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions in Terry’s name may be made to First Christian Church or the Family in care of Barbara Wegner. Terry was born March 30, 1937, in Dowagiac, to Fred and Thelma (Greenwood) Wegner. He graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1955.

On May 28, 1960, he married the love of his life, Barbara Angle, at First Christian Church in Dowagiac. Terry worked for many years in the automotive industry, as a parts manager at AutoZone before his retirement. He was an accomplished wood carver and belonged to the Fruit Belt Wood Carvers. Terry was a lifelong member of the Dowagiac Elks Lodge and served as assistant Boy Scout Master. He enjoyed bird watching, ice fishing, mushroom hunting and deer hunting with his friend Mac Allen in the UP. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Wegner; son Tim (Jody) Wegner, of Cassopolis; daughter Anne (Denise Cattoor) Wegner, of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Carson Wegner, Timothy Wegner, Michael Wegner, Jaycin Hutchings and Jeremy Hutchings; great-grandchildren, Madelynn Wegner, Makena Wegner, Mason Hutchings, Adelaide Hutchings, Karlie Hutchings, Khloie Hutchings and brother, Dale (Neta) Wegner, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Godson Jason Parsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Clay Wegner; sisters, Janice Huber and Lorene “Babe” Barnett and brother-in-law, Bob Huber.
