Viking beat Wildcats, snap two-game streak

MATTAWAN — Visiting Niles snapped a two-game losing streak with a 37-24 SMAC West Division victory over Mattawan in girls basketball Monday night.
The contest was a make-up game.
Niles jumped out to a 15-5 lead after one quarter and led 27-7 at halftime.
The Vikings (8-5, 4-4 West) struggled to score points in the second half and finished with just 10 points in the final 16 minutes of play.
Alycia Patterson led Niles with 11 points, four steals and three assists, while Aynslee Myer added nine points. Alexis Rauch finished with a team-high 11 rebounds.
The Vikings’ game against undefeated Edwardsburg on Tuesday night was postponed due to inclement weather.
The game is scheduled to be made up at 5:45 p.m. Monday.
