Lynne Marie McCalley, of Dowagiac, passed away, Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at her home.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 2, at Berrien Center Bible Church, 8830 M-140, Berrien Center.

Family visitation will be at 10 a.m. The service will begin at 11a.m. Memorial contributions in Lynne’s name may be made to the Berrien Center Bible Church-Benevolent Fund. Those wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at clarkch.com.

Lynne was born Dec. 21, 1944, in Muskegon, to Elliott and Goldie (Cole) Link. She graduated from Cedar Lake Academy in 1963. After high school, Lynne pursued a degree in nursing. She attended Southwestern Michigan College where she received degrees in 1969 and in 1978. She later attended Bethel college where she received her BSN.

On April 24, 1965, she married the love of her life Kenneth “Ken” McCalley in Dowagiac. Lynne worked as a nurse for more than 40 years before her retirement. She worked as an ER nurse, visiting nurse and hospice nurse. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and they participated in many short-term missionary trips together visiting Haiti and the Dominican Republic. When she was no longer participating in the mission trips, continuing to support missionaries was very important to her. She was a long-time member of the Berrien Center Bible Church, where she created many friendships over the years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, word puzzles and sewing, and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, she loved her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Lynne is survived by her loving husband, Ken McCalley; daughters, Lorie (Dave) Huibregtse, Cheryl McCalley and Cindy (Robert Jr.) Hernandez; grandchildren Antonio and Alexander Hernandez.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Ruth Link; siblings Laverne Link, Roy Link, Lyle Link, Lavina Wright, Louise Reth, Leona Moon, infant brother Everett Link; and step-sister Rosemarie Richardson.
