Two arrested in connection to Cass County robberies

CASSOPOLIS — Two have been arrested in connection to a string of robberies in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana.

Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reported that his office has successfully solved numerous burglaries and recovered a large quantity of stolen property.

Two suspects have been arrested on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and criminal enterprise.   Sunny Fogg, 32, of Brownsville Street in Cassopolis, is being held on charges with $70,000 bond, and Amber Biggs, 35, of Brownsville Street in Cassopolis, is being held on charges at $60,000 bond.

An investigation by Cass County sheriff deputies took them to an address on Brownsville Road in Calvin Township. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office and Cass County Drug Enforcement Team conducted the search warrant at the residence on Jan. 16.

During the search warrant, it was discovered that the residence was full of stolen property from numerous burglaries and larcenies from southwest Michigan and Elkhart County, Indiana.  Also recovered in the search warrant were drugs, including methamphetamine. It took two and a half days for deputies to process the stolen property from the residence.

While these suspects have been captured, there are still burglaries occurring since their arrest. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is asking that residents be vigilant and make sure their homes and vehicles are secure.
