FREELAND — Saint Mary’s junior Jade Mosier was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts during the week of Jan. 14-20.
A native of Buchanan, she led the Belles last week by averaging 20.5 points and 9-0 rebounds per game as Saint Mary’s split results against Hope and Calvin. Against No. 7-ranked Hope, Mosier collected 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds while collecting two steals and blocking a shot.
On Saturday, she had a season-high 31 points to help lead the Belles to a 76-69 win at Calvin. She connected on 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) three-pointers and 13-of-20 (65.0 percent) of her shots from the floor while adding six assists and a game-high 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the year.
It is the first MIAA Player of the Week honor of her career.
