CASSOPOLIS — The holidays are a time of family, food and generosity. But what happens after the holidays are over? 

One local healthcare provider answered that question by making the post-holidays a time of giving. The Cassopolis Family Clinic Network recently donated $1,000 to the food pantry at the Niles Salvation Army.

“People come to us for affordable healthcare, but their needs are far greater.  Many people need food to feed their families,” said Mary Geegan Middleton, CEO of CFCN.  This post-holiday season, CFCN is taking its’ slogan ‘Our family. Caring for Yours.’ a step further and giving back to its community.”

The Salvation Army of Niles serves residents of Cass and southeast Berrien Counties. The organization offers church programs, social services, The Feeding Program, food pantry, cold weather attire assistance and much more.  For those in need of a meal, The Feeding Program is available from 11:30 through 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Families in need of food assistance from the food pantry are encouraged to call ahead to schedule an appointment.  The food pantry is open 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Community members interested in volunteering for The Feeding Program or donating to the pantry can contact The Salvation Army of Niles at (269) 684-2660.  Those who wish to drop off items for the food pantry, may do so at 424 N. 15th Street, Niles during the organizations’ business hours.  The Salvation Army of Niles is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Current food items in immediate need are: peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, soup and juice, according to representatives with the Salvation Army.  The organization is also in need of winter gloves for all ages.

Cassopolis Family Clinic Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, designated a Federally Qualified Health Center. With locations in Cassopolis and Niles, CFCN provides primary care, behavioral health, obstetrics and gynecology, dental, pharmacy and healthcare enrollment assistance services for the communities of Cass and southeast Berrien Counties.
