CASSOPOLIS — The Cass County Board of Commissioners is scheduled Thursday to vote on a motion to terminate Karen Folks’ Cass County Administrator contract and employment with Cass County effective immediately, according to the agenda. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at 120 N.  Broadway, Cassopolis.

Efforts to reach county administration and elected commissioners to shed light on the situation prior to the meeting were unsuccessful.

Folks was hired as Cass County administrator in 2016, and she has spent more than 20 years working in government. Previously, she served as city administrator in Allen Park, where she was suspended by the Allen Park City Council, citing concerns over lack of transparency and making decisions without council approval, in 2015.
