BUCHANAN — Buchanan history teacher Joshua Wegener was recognized by the Rebecca Dewey Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as the Outstanding History Teacher for 2018.
Wegener is a ninth-grade social studies teacher at Buchanan High School. He was recognized during the Importance of Community Service reception that took place Dec. 8 at United Methodist Church in Three Oaks.
The Three Oaks Flag Day Parade Committee organizes this annual event to recognize people who are diligent volunteers in the community. Alongside Wegener, others were recognized, including the Buchanan Preservation Society. This organization works to protect and preserve various neighborhoods and their environments. Those selected for the award were chosen through a nomination process.
