Buchanan’s Carson scores 28 as Bucks beat LMC 69-47

BUCHANAN — A 28-point performance by Buchanan’s Logan Carson led the Bucks to an ay 69-67 victory over visiting Lake Michigan Catholic in non-conference boys basketball action Monday night.

The Bucks (3-5) jumped out to an 18-11 lead on the Lakers (2-5), which it turned into a 28-18 halftime advantage behind the inside play of Carson.

Carson, a 6-foot-10 sophomore, scored 10 points in the opening quarter and finished the first half with 16 of his game-high 28 points.

The Bucks put the game away in the third quarter as they outscored Lake Michigan Catholic 23-12 to open up a 51-30 advantage through three quarters.

Darius Griggs also reached double figures for Buchanan as he scored all 14 of his points in the second half. Gavin Fazi and Cam Lorance both finished with eight points.

Jake Koenig and Michael Markoch combined for 29 of the Lakers’ 47 points.

Buchanan is back in action Friday night as it hosts New Prairie (Indiana) in another non-conference contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
