Tim R. Stilwell Sr., 64, of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at the funeral home. Tim was born Oct. 23, 1954, in Dowagiac, to Richard Lee and Vivian Ann (Urbanski) Stilwell. He left school at a young age to help work on his family farm.
On July 6, 1971, he married Gloria Hart in Missouri. Tim owned and operated the family welding business, Stilwell Company, until retirement. He was an avid University of Michigan fan. Tim enjoyed visiting casinos, fishing, firearms and camping. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; children, Tim Stilwell Jr., of Niles, Stacy (Ed) Walsh, of Cassopolis, and Tracy (Erik) Lenner, of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Brittney, Tyler, Conrad, Cody, Noah, Van, Allyson, Katie and Brandon; five great-grandchildren, Brenden, Briana, Ezekiel, Kian and Emma; brother, Ned (Jeannie) Stilwell and his beloved dog, Boomer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Vivian Stilwell.
