Diane Fritz, 77, of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, with her husband by her side.

She was born June 30, 1941, to Edward and Esther Wirant, in South Bend.

On Sept. 12, 1959, she married Thomas Fritz in Niles. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Niles. Her greatest joy was being around her children and family, and she loved Christmas holiday season. She also loved vacationing at Detour Village, Michigan and spending winters in Clermont, Florida. After 34 years, Diane retired as a bus driver for Buchanan Public Schools.

Diane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas; daughter, Tami (Scott) Smith, of St. Joseph, and their children, Lyndsee (Ruben) Alvarado, Jayme (Eric) Bykowski, Haley Smith, Tyler Smith, Kelsey Smith; daughter, Traci Adams, of Belleville, Michigan, and her children, Steven (Kayla) Adams, Mackenzi Adams, Cassandra Adams; son, Tom (Susan) Fritz, of Mattawan, Michigan, and their children, Jessica Fritz, Jenna Fritz, Thomas Fritz, Joshua Fritz; and great-grandchildren, Luke Alvarado, Elijah Adams, Ophelia Adams.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Esther, and brother, Raymond Wirant.

Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Parish, 219 S. State St., Niles, MI 49120.
