Niles goes undefeated at Penn

MISHAWAKA — The Niles wrestling team remained undefeated after going 5-0 at the Penn Super Duals/Henry Wilks Classic on Saturday.

The Vikings defeated Huntington North 33-32, Jimtown 42-33, Zionsville 54-22, Penn 45-30 and East Noble 71-6.

Going undefeated on the day for Niles were Cole Simpson (160), Cade Best (170) and Dawson Bruckner (182).

Blue Devil Invitational

RICHLAND — The Dowagiac wrestling team went 3-2 at the Blue Devil Invitational hosted by Gull Lake Saturday.

The Chieftains (8-4) defeated Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 55-20, Lawton 48-27 and Comstock 55-22.

Dowagiac was defeated by Battle Creek Harper Creek 37-33 and Leslie 45-31.

Going undefeated on the day was Dylan Elmore at 119 and 125 pounds, Lamberto Paredes at 160 and Wyatt Bailey at 285. Korey Kinyon was 3-0 at 125 pounds.

Remus Chippewa Hills defeated Leslie 57-15 to win the team title, while the Chieftains finished fourth after falling to Harper Creek.

St. Joseph was fifth, Loy Norrix sixth, Climax-Martin seventh, Michigan Center eighth, Gull Lake ninth and Brandywine 10th.

The Chieftains are back on the mat Wednesday as they return to Edwardsburg for a Wolverine Conference Quad.

Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Bobcats were 2-3 on the day.

Brandywine defeated Chippewa Hill B 48-33 and Lawton 39-36.

The Bobcats lost to Climax-Martin 40-39, Leslie 72-12 and Gull Lake 66-18.

Going undefeated on the day were Searra Inman (3-0) and Hunter Heath 5-0.
